During my previous summer series, I wrote about skin care for my sissies and cross dressers, but it was about sun care and melanoma self-checks. Now that the weather is changing, skin is still important. Instead of waiting until your lips are chapped and your hands aren’t far behind, I’d thought I’d get a jumpstart on some tips for staying soft and touchable.

DIY Skin Tips For Sexy Fall/Winter Skin

Homemade smooth— No need for expensive facial scrubs, there’s no reason you can’t make your own. Simply mix 1 TBSP coconut oil with 2 TBSP sugar for an easy face scrub and then just rinse with warm water. You can use the same recipe for your body, just increase the ingredients.

Moisture lock-in— Make sure you’re slathering skin with moisture rich lotion the moment you step out of the shower while your body is still hydrated and pores are open. Soft, lotioned skin will look perfectly touchable when you’re out en femme!

Change your body pouf more— How many of you love those pretty, body pouf scrubbers in the shower? I know I do. But don’t keep them forever, as they can breed bacteria. Change every 2-4 weeks to keep it fresh.

More Tips (And A Few Warnings)

Ok, you’ve got some great tips. But be careful of:

  1. Lotions that have too much alcohol in them. This will be very drying for your skin and thwart all your efforts to stay soft and smooth. (Usually, if there is a high fragrance/perfume-y content, it will be high alcohol, as well.)
  2.  Over-exfoliating. Don’t do it every day, or you can scratch your delicate skin. Only use a scrub once a week.
  3. Indulging in steam treatments and skin facials too much. (Here are some great DIY facial recipes from Yours Truly!) They have their purpose, but it’s possible to overdo. Avoid that, and you’ll avoid the skin irritation it leads to.
  4. Scrubbing your face with a washcloth. Don’t do it! Use gentle fingertips in a soft, circular motion and be careful of eyes.
  5.  Speaking of eyes, they have their own needs. It’s never too late to find a quality eye cream for overnight.
  6. Not drinking enough water. Being dehydrated shows on your skin, especially with knees and elbows.
  7. Licking your lips alot. That’s the fast track to lip irritation, over redness, pain and chapping. Lips need their own moisture. Keep a good balm in your sissy purse at all times.
