Well, it’s officially hot and that means sweat and grime. Gross. Wearing any amount of makeup or even zero products will only add to the issue, no matter how much you’ve pared your regimen down for the season. Thankfully, there’s nothing more refreshing than taking all the ‘ick’ off at the end of the day. Whether you’ve been at a BBQ, at the beach, out with friends or hanging with a special someone, you need good cleanser. Put that bar soap down and review of my throwback tips from June 2018.

Summer Face Cleanser Tips

Sometimes it seems like there’s a sea of products when you’re standing in the aisle. You don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, but a cleanser still needs to be thorough and get the job done. Here are some words and phrases to look for to steer you in the right direction.

‘Draw out impurities’– This phrase or something like it is good. You want this.

‘Cooling‘– This is also a good sign if you see it. Summer skin needs a little soothing sometimes.

‘Calm/calming‘ and ‘Reduce irritation‘– Pretty self-explanatory. Two winners for sure.

‘Alcohol free‘– This is a big one. Alcohol in a cleanser can really irritate and be harsh on skin.

‘For sensitive skin‘– Even if your skin isn’t sensitive, choosing a cleanser that is will be extra tender on you.

Even More Tips

* Don’t rub your face dry with a towel. Pat it. Always with a gentle touch.

* Steer clear of peel-off facial masks in the summer time. You will only irritate your skin.

* Just because it’s hot outside doesn’t mean you may not need a moisturizer. I use one every day. Just make sure it isn’t heavy. I love gel moisturizer. It’s perfect for me. And it’s very lightweight until I switch to a cream moisturizer in the Fall/Winter.

Wrapping Up

Don’t forget that sunscreen! That sun will getcha! See you next week!
