Since alot of us are in quarantine and encouraged not to go out, we’ve been asked to adapt to social distance. Last week I talked about some things you can do during this period. In addition to those things, I’d like to throw dress-up and makeup into the mix. It never gets old. And you know what else doesn’t get old? Selfies. A sissy selfie, in this case!

I had lots of time when I was younger to play with makeup, I just couldn’t leave the house ‘looking like that’. I often posed like a fashion model very and made everyone in the house roll their eyes with my dramatic make-believe. There wasn’t social media back then, but you can do so much more now with your time in quarantine. Sissy selfies are an improvement to my make-believe all those years ago. So pull put those accessories, wear the new lipstick you’ve been saving. It’s time!

Sissy Selfie Time!

Here’s an excerpt from a blog I wrote back in September 2015, entitled ‘Posing For The Perfect Sissy Selfie‘:

Lighting and pose

Find the light. Always choose natural light whenever possible. Don’t use the flash if you can help it.

Find your best side. Take a picture from both sides of your face. Everyone has a best side, and once you find it, you know from which angle you will always look your most beautiful.

Extend your neck forward. This will help with any double-chin issues and accentuate the jaw line.

Snapping That Sissy Selfie Pic

It’s all about placement. Make sure your face is in the top left or top right of the frame of the photo, avoiding putting yourself in the center of the picture, which looks very generic.

Consider a full-length pic. Adjust your body so that your hip is leaning to the same side you are holding the camera in. Your oppposite shoulder should come forward a little and your free hand can be at your side or sit sassy on your hip. Practice standing like this before doing it. Make it natural. Also, be mindful of what’s behind you. Pick a fairly clean and non-cluttered space, make sure there is nothing gross or embarrassing in the background.

Don’t be cheesy. Don’t over-pout or flash the infamous ‘duckface’. And don’t try to make a picture look like someone else took it. Just be yourself!

Selfie sticks aren’t evil. Selfie sticks get alot of bad press, but sometimes, they can really help you take a good pic.

Play with filters. Your phone likely has a filter function that can add an interesting something-extra or make your lighting or face even more flattering.

Have fun with social media. There are ways beyond Facebook to display yourself. Look into Instagram and Twitter if you’re so inclined. Start your own sissy account. Have fun with it!

Wrapping Up

We may be stuck in the house but we can still have fun! Dress up and get sexy….snap the perfect sissy selfie! (Or lots of them!)
