As you know, I love fashion and have always watched runway trends. I have fond memories of skipping all the household magazines that I could always find in my home growing up (my mother called that ‘sensible reading’), and would splurge instead on something fancy with glossy pages of fashion and clothes I could never afford. Girls that looked too rude to actually be friends with wore the most beautiful pieces, and of course I lusted after their clothes. Now that I’m older, I love a bargain and have learned that you can make the same fashion statement with a cheaper copycat version. This Fall, the 70’s are back in a big way, and you can channel the same energy when you go out en femme!

Throwback fashion fun

Of course, there are more clothes besides the 70’s this season, but I have been very excited to see this trend this fall. You don’t have to take advantage of these throwback styles, of course. But you’ll be in good company of you do. The fun of cross dressing without coercion is how free you feel to be who you are, and you enjoy the beauty of everything feminine because you can’t imagine living any other way.

Love the idea of the 70’s? Look for suede boots and maxi dresses, peasant-style tops with fringe jackets, beautiful bell-sleeve tops with wide-leg trousers or wrap skirts with knee-high boots. In love with denim? Get dramatic with exaggerated leg-styles that are extra wide. Pair it with a cozy sweater and you’re good to go! Somewhere between Saturday Night Fever and Woodstock is where you want to find your happy place. Think classic, flowing, free! Dressing like a woman has never been so fun!

01 Farrah Fawcett

I am having a blast with this 70’s trend. Next week, we’re going to channel our inner Farrah Fawcett and get some sexy hair!
