It’s another week of Amber Academy, and we are back to feminization training and real-life application. Today, I will be talking about buying and wearing a corset, definitely a sexy way for sissies and cross dressers to cinch up and look more feminine, shapely and put together. Already thinking about buying one?
You know I’ve got the scoop!

Factors to consider when buying a corset

Corsets are a fabulous accessory when dressing up and looking more like a woman. An hourglass figure is a classic look. Want one?

1) Plastic or steel boning?

Plastic: If you are looking for a pretty corset to wear when going out or in sexy play, you want plastic boning. Most fashion corsets will have plastic boning.
Plastic boning corsets are easier to find and buy in stores.

Steel: You only need steel boning if you are planning to wear a corset for a long period of time or if you plan on a waist-training regimen. With steel boning, you can lace the corset extremely tight and they are made for that purpose. If you have your heart set on a steel training corset, be prepared to order it custom for a proper fit.

2) Overbust or underbust?

Overbust: For a corset that covers the breasts and gives you cleavage, you want an overbust. If you are buying an overbust corset, take a measurement around your bust. If you plan on wearing breastforms with the corset, have a bra on with the breastforms when measuring.

Underbust: For a corset just under the breast, you’ll want an underbust. This is a corset you wear under clothing. It won’t be for cleavage at all, just holding your stomach in and making that area tighter and more flat.

3) Get an idea of what’s available and strive for the highest quality possible. There are all kinds of fabrics available. Consider what would work best for you. Satin, lace, PVC? Make a decision based on what you will be using the corset for. And remember, there’s no reason to skimp on quality. Garbage will perform like garbage, so make a good choice for yourself and make your money go farther.

 4) Ask the right questions when you get to try it on. Does the corset fit properly? Does it dig, pull unnaturally or bunch? Is it comfortable? Walk in it, sit in it. Bend. You and your corset are going to be friends for awhile. Make sure that you like it and that it’s right for your body.

Cleaning and caring for your new corset

Maintaining your corset is essential and will guarantee many opportunities to wear it en femme. Absolutely the best way to wash a corset is to dry clean, but if that’s not possible, use a few drops of Woolite or another soap for gentle fabrics. Wash in warm water, rinse in cold and do not wring. Wrap in a fluffy towel to absorb as much water as possible, and then dry on a rack, never with heat. Once dry, hang carefully and make sure that it does not snag on any other garment.

Corsets are beautiful and really change your shape. They’re a perfect opportunity to alter your appearance and feel more feminine!
