One of the best things about being a girl is dressing up. If you’re a cross dresser or a sissy, feeling feminine is something that you can enjoy every day, and with changing seasons and trends, it never gets old. If you’re a fashionista, you might be devouring this fall fashion series and I sure hope you are. But just because we’ve covered the clothes and shoes, it doesn’t mean we’re done. Not yet, ladies! There’s still the matter of accessories, the finishing touch on your feminine fall look. And these next few weeks, we will be focusing on just that.
The jewelery you want this fall….
This fall season, it’s all about getting noticed. Look for pieces that are like art on the body. Oversized hoops are definitely ‘in’, especially textured ones. Anything pretty and ornate that dangle, anything chandelier-type, anything jeweled. Charm bracelets (not the flat charms that used to snap into Italian charm bracelets that used to be all the rage), but the kinds of charms that hang and maybe even jingle just a bit. Be mindful of others, of course. You don’t want to annoy others with your jewelery! Of course, bangle bracelets are always classic. I love mine!
Necklaces are sexy! There’s alot of chunky pieces, gorgeous pendants and of course, the classic pearls. Graceful neck? Draw attention to it with a lovely choker. But if you’re neck is not so slender, draw the eye away with long chained neck pieces that accent your décolletage and add a little mystery.
How to wear what you love….
Jewelery this fall borders on a look that’s almost ‘too much’. The trick is to have one main piece and then smaller things to pair with it. For example, if your necklace is oversized, keep your earrings and bracelets a bit more muted. When you accessorize and are choosing pieces while getting dressed, remember to do so in front of a full length mirror. You want to get the whole picture of what you’re presenting when going out en femme. Ask yourself, ‘Does it work with my look today, or would it be better suited to a different outfit?’ You may have your heart set on a piece of jewelery you’re dying to debut, but if it doesn’t really work, pick something that does. Sometimes, abstract artists will throw paint on a canvas and it will end up in a gallery. But no one wants to look like a train wreck with they walk out the door. As always, keep it classy. It’s alright to get a little whimsical sometimes. But never forget that your look is the first statement you make, even before you open your mouth to speak.
More accessories next week, ladies! Having fun? I am….so glad you’re with me on this path of fall fashion!
