This week, I’m going to cover standing, sitting and bending. These actions are important and inevitable, and there are definite differences in the way men and women do these things. Being feminine is always the goal and specific ways of standing, sitting and bending are important practices to learn and adopt, making them your own. As I’ve said before, this may not be new to you, but these are the basics.

Standing in a feminine way

When standing, be mindful of your body. Your head should always be up, your tummy tucked in, your chest out, and your shoulders down. Do not scrunch, hunch or lean. Avoid crossing your arms, which automatically looks defensive. There’s alot to think about when conducting yourself in a feminine way, but try to look natural and not pained. Smile, relax. If you remember these things, you’re going to look great. Whether en femme or not, standing like this will automatically make you look more feminine.

Sitting like a lady

When sitting, please be mindful of your legs and ankles. If they are wearing a skirt or dress, ladies will always ‘guard the goods’ and not flash the world! Even if you’re wearing a classy pants suit or a pair of feminine slacks, avoid masculine movements when sitting. It only takes a moment to act in a way that tarnishes your elegance. So make sure that when sitting, your legs are
1) together and either angled off to the side with your ankles crossed
or
2) crossed with one knee on top of the other and your top leg femininely draped down the bottom leg

There really isn’t any other option, so these are the ones to learn and love as your strive to look more like a woman.

Men and women sit very different. Always be feminine!

Bending in a feminine way

Whenever I think about this or talk about this, I automatically remember Reese Witherspoon teaching Jennifer Coolidge the ‘bend and snap’. Remember that? I love that movie. While that scene is amusing and pretty flirty, I would also add that the ‘bend and snap’ is silly and can potentially put you in an awkward position or make you look silly in real life. It is not actual, practical advice.

Here’s some real feminization advice, which is also common sense. When it comes to bending, it’s simple. Always remember to crouch and then rise. Never bend at the waist, which will automatically put your bum in the air. That’s also pretty hard on your back!

Feminine practice with all that you’ve learned

Now it’s time to practice all that you’ve learned. In a room with a sofa and a chair, try putting something in the middle of the floor. It could be anything, a book, your cell phone, anything you can pick up with one hand. Stand at the edge of the room, take a deep breath and stand like a woman. Walk femininely across the room, crouch, pick up the object, rise like a lady and walk gracefully to where you’ll sit. Transition into a feminine sitting position. Keep practicing!

There are going to be different things for you to smooth out, like the transition between walking to crouching, crouching and rising and between sitting with your legs correctly. Try practicing in bare feet and while wearing heels, practice with each a straight back chair, a couch or even a recliner. Keep your movements fluid and feminine.

There may be alot of ‘reprogramming’ when it comes to standing, sitting and bending. It may not happen all at once for you. But it is imperative that you learn, and that it’s second nature. I know you can do it!
