Before I jump into anal sex and all the fun it can bring, I wanted to help all of you brush up (or learn the proper way) when it comes to proper cleaning of your anal sex toys and vibrators. The other part of this blog is even more important. STD prevention is absolutely crucial at this point in our culture.
So many of you are starting new chapters in your sex lives by seeking out opportunities for anal sex and cocksucking, and I’ll be the first one to encourage you. But never forget that safety is important. Always be mindful to protect yourself and any partner(s) you have.
Proper cleaning and care for anal sex and vibrator toys
To clean and care for your sex toys, first determine what they’re made of. As the composition varies, so does the method of cleaning.
Do not assume that a pump of antibacterial soap and hot water from the faucet puts you in the clear with everything you have. Here’s a quick guide for your fun stash.
Porous toys:
–‘Real feel’, soft plastic, soft vinyl, rubber, hard plastic or jelly toys–
These toys have similar care instructions. Soap can be hard to remove from porous toys like these. The best way to clean them is with a sex toy cleaner you spray on, leave on for about 5 minutes, rinse well and let air dry.
(Only with the ‘real feel’ toys, once all the water is gone, sprinkle with a bit of cornstarch to keep the toy fresh until the next use.)
Make sure to only buy and use sex toys that are free of phthalates, which are chemicals that are meant to soften the toy and make it more flexible. Toxins are bad, mmm’kay?
Non-porous toys:
Silicone — Avoid silicone-based lubes (they will melt your toy). Water-based lubes work well. There are differing opinions about how to clean silicone toys. Boiling in water is a method that is effective, but can damage your toy. They can be placed in the dishwasher (no heat dry) if there aren’t any mechanical parts, and if there are mechanical parts, use a spray on sex toy cleaner. Silicone toys can last for many years if well cared for!
Glass— I always just pop my glass toys in the dishwasher to thoroughly clean and disinfect. If you live with multiple people and this is not an option,
you can always use a solution of one part bleach and 9 parts water to clean glass or just wash well with hot water and soap. Because glass is non-porous and non-fiber, it’s really just a matter of cleaning the surface and rinsing well.
Stainless steel–This type of non-porous toy can be cleaned a multitude of ways. Dishwasher (no heat dry), water boil or wash by hand with soap and hot water.
Guarding your sex toys and cum eating against STD’s
It’s possible to get STD’s from shared sex toys, so proper precautions are needed in anal play! If you are not in a monogamous relationship and are going to share a dildo or a vibrator, interrupting sex to wash the toy before sharing will kill the mood. Instead, be sure to use a condom on the toy for each of you and use a fresh condom each time you switch.
Many of you have decided to move from fantasy to reality through random, frequent cum eating encounters, and cocksucking with a condom may sour your interest in doing it at all. While cases of penis to mouth HIV transmission is low, it is still a risk and not worth your life. I would encourage you to use a condom when visiting bath houses, glory holes, X-rated video/book stores or anytime you will be with a stranger.
Eating cum is fun and definitely part of the fantasy, but you will need to weigh the risk. Please protect yourself unless you have a monogamous agreement with someone, even if it is strictly sex-based and not a relationship. If you absolutely love the feel of a hot load on your face, self-facials are the safest way to go. C’mon, you know you want to ice your face like a birthday cake!
Next week, we’ll be entering some red-hot territory while I share some fun toys for you to try. Are you as excited as I am? Call me and let’s talk!

I Love this! So Very informative Miss Amber 🙂 I think it’s ultra important to take care of and protect your your body from STI’s, and everyone should take the necessary steps in preventing exposure and to limit transmission. I find the toy part extra important as we know some people like to share, and may not realize right away that what they’re doing may not be safe. Thanks so much for this!
You are so welcome, Hope! The kind of information that I shared isn’t mentioned alot on our pages, but it definitely needs to be said from time to time!
Ms. Amber, this is SUCH an essential post for all of those who enjoy their sex toys, oral action via anonymous encounters – or both! That old adage of an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure is especially important when there is any chance of an STD being spread – particularly since some STDs have NO cure.
It’s a matter of personal responsibility and protection PLUS consideration and respect for one’s partner, whether that partner is a spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, friend with benefits, fuck buddy or stranger. If you can’t be responsible, you need to think twice about engaging in risky behaviors.
Thank you, Ms. Amber, for the helpful toy-cleaning tips (Gotta take good care of those babies!), as well as the reminder to be safe and health-conscious when you play.
You are so right, Miss Emmajane! This kind of information isn’t hella exciting, but it definitely needs to be said from time to time!
