As you all know I threw a great party for Miss Amber during the holidays. The party food impressed the guests so much, but especially Mistress Tarah. She asked me that night if I would cater her birthday party.

Sissy plans perfection

The best part about planning for Miss Tarah has been the freedom with the menu. All she said to do is make it different than Miss Amber’s party, which is no problem. In between household chores and working at the store, I had fun planning the perfect spread, and Miss Amber says that she has no doubt that I can pull it off.

I had looked at so many possible menus to really come up with something that would knock their socks off. I took the menu ideas to Miss Tarah and she was so happy. She said I am very ambitious! I will be shopping for everything right before I need it to make sure everything is fresh. I even have a secret weapon for that evening thanks to Miss Amber, who will be helping with dessert.

After trying some duck liver pâté at a restaurant once, I knew the party would be the perfect place for it. I will have french bread crostini for that and serve prosciutto wrapped figs stuffed with goat cheese as a second appetizer. Miss Amber loved my idea to make Chilean sea bass with miso glaze, french green beans with almonds and my favorite purple cauliflower puree. I was stumped on dessert at first because Miss Tarah loves chocolate but doesn’t want anything heavy. I didn’t want to make the same dessert from the holiday party and had to get Miss Amber’s advice. She offered to take a little pressure off me and whip up one of her favorites, chocolate fudge-filled devils food cupcakes. I thought that cherry coulis would be perfect to top it. If you have never tried making a coulis, you should try it. It is very tasty. Miss Amber had me make a few things for her to taste, like the pâté. She was unsure about making it for the party at first but says it’s a winner.

I’m so excited to be making all of this for Miss Tarah on January 16th. Miss Amber said that if I make an excellent meal that she has a special surprise for me. She already said that I will get a few points for this, too. That is perfect since I have 8 and need only 2 more. Now I just need to decide what I am going to wear while I serve all of this food. Miss Amber’s cupcakes are heaven and I am so glad she offered to bring them. I will share my cherry coulis recipe with all of you next week. I put it on vanilla ice cream for Miss Amber once and she gave me a point just because.

Will report next week how the party went. Miss Tarah doesn’t have a glory hole at her house, but I know that I will have fun anyway.
