I have big spa dreams as much as the next girl, but let’s face it. It isn’t always financially feasible. Good thing your girl Amber has some awesome DIY facial mask recipes on hand that you can whip up in your kitchen! These are perfect for applying and then relaxing in the bath or watching trash tv. These masks are all natural, too. No weird ingredients here!
These are throwback recipes from July 2016, and they’re still goodies! The weather is heating up and you want to look your best, so pick one and have some fun at home that will save alot in that bank account!

Before Your Facial Mask
- Pull or clip your hair back.
- Apply masks when you are topless or wearing something you don’t mind getting messy.
- Avoid your eyes and mouth.
- The removal of your facial mask is simple. Gently remove with wet, warm washcloth or just jump in the shower.
(TBSP/TBSPS = Tablespoon/Tablespoons, tsp/tsps = teaspoon/teaspoons)
Don’t over-do masks. You don’t want to irritate your skin. One facial mask, once weekly at the most.
Oily skin
- Blend 1 peeled kiwi in a food processor or blender until smooth. Plop kiwi into a bowl, add 1 egg white, 1 tsp lemon juice and stir with a spoon until mixed. Apply to face and leave on for 15 minutes.
Dry skin
- Add 2 TBSPS honey and 1/2 tsp coconut oil to a 1/2 of a ripe, mashed avocado. Apply and leave on for 10-15 minutes. (You can eat the other half of that delicious avo while you wait!)
Normal skin
- Combine 1/2 cup warm cooked oatmeal (prepared plain) with 1 egg and 1 TBSP almond oil OR olive oil. Apply to face and leave on for 10 minutes.
Red or sensitive skin
- Combine 1/3 cup instant oatmeal with a 1/2 cup hot water and stir. Add 1 TBSP honey and 2 TBSP plain, unsweetened yogurt. Put this mixture into a blender and pulse until smooth. Apply and leave on for 15 minutes.
Pore Tightening Mask
- Cook one serving of plain instant oatmeal and blend it with a half a ripe apple, a peeled ripe banana, 1 tsp of lemon juice, and 4 tsps of honey. Apply and leave on for 15 minutes.
