This would have been a feminization blog as it is Wednesday, but the anniversary of September 11, 2001 looms large in hearts across the world today. We lost people in buildings and in the sky, both Americans and those who were from other countries, too. It’s difficult to think about the days, weeks and months following that terrible tragedy. The country was reeling, but flags were flown, love for our nation was burning bright and people became more patriotic than ever before.
We had been wronged as a nation, violated as a whole. The entire world changed in an instant.

Today, Love.
Today as you go about your routine, take a moment to think about those that went to work for the last time, those who never reached their intended destination from the air. Think about the strength shown by citizens whose names we know, stories that have been told again and again, the banding together of our first responders, the families suddenly fragmented and those who never got to say Goodbye. Whatever you think of this world and who is at the helm of that big, White House doesn’t matter today. Political parties, religions, race, orientation….we can all do something together. Hug the people you love. Tell them they’re important to you. Pause to consider how lucky we are to be able to still say those things.
We can’t go back or fix what was. But it can change us for the better, if our hearts are willing.
I will be resuming my new Series Femme-tastic Fall next week.
