The other day, I saw a woman running outside as I drove to get coffee. Now, this was in the morning before Las Vegas summer sun could send you to the hospital. But I sure did admire this gal. I’m a gym person but I have to talk myself into it. She was cute as hell out there in her little pink and black number, running like a pro while I sat on my ass and thought about how many shots I was going to want in my coffee. And then I remembered how I wrote about exercising many moons ago and I had some tips on an outdoor workout, so I decided to touch on it again, like a refresh. I’m including an excerpt from my 2017 blog, Outdoor Workouts For Sexy Spring Sissies.

Skip the heels this time and trade ’em in for some cute workout kicks!
Outdoor Workout Ideas And Tips
First of all, be safe and smart. Carry water, don’t forget your phone (for emergencies), remember sunscreen and always stay alert. Things happen all the time and you’ll aways need to know what’s going on. Not to say you can’t rock out to that workout playlist in your earbuds, but just be aware of surroundings, shady folks, etc. And wear something en femme, of course! Why not take the opportunity to sport some gear and look cute?
Now, what to do during your outdoor workout? There’s definitely some options (after you stretch, of course!)
Maybe jump rope on your back patio, or climb a set of stairs at your apartment complex. Visit a park and do sprints or ride a bike all around town. Have access to a pool? Go for it. Walking trail nearby? Pack a snack. Maybe even start a yoga routine in the backyard as the sun sets every day. For me, I never take elevators or escalators, even in the mall. Stairs are always right there and so much better for me. I also park as far away from an entrance as possible so I have to walk across a parking lot (never at night, though). My all-time favorite workout is walking in sand. That beach will kick your ass, and it’s great cardio!
Workout Wrap-Up
Make sure you stretch a little after and get into a cool place to bring your body temp down. Drink more water and feel like a rockstar the rest of the day because you just worked out outside. You’re making all the ladies in passing cars feel like getting their butts in gear, too. Trust me on that one!

Ms Amber ~ this is my FAV topic ever!! You know me ~ I don’t ever miss my workouts (and not just because my trainers are yummy ~ I like to workout) I am also a gym rat more but I do try to do my cardio outdoors. Summertime is not easy for me (and I don’t have your weather) I love mixing sprints with what I call “bench sets” ~ dips and pushups and even split squats on bench seats. Hydration is key always and even more so this time of year!
Ms Kay Marie
Well, I know you don’t miss your workouts….that’s why you’re so hot!
Great advice. I’m a distance runner and hate the heat. I always carry my phone with me. It came in handy last summer when I broke my foot a few miles from home and had to call for help.
Exercise is great for the mind, body and soul. ????????
I couldn’t agree more!
