It always fits in your bag, it can take you from daytime to nighttime in a flash, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Wednesdays are all about sissies and cross dressers and being beautiful from the inside and out, and lipstick is beauty is at your fingertips. It’s ‘girly’ at it’s most accessible form, and one of the easiest ways to feel fabulous.
First Things First
The first thing you need to do is determine your skin tone. The best advice I can give comes from my blog ‘About Face: Part I‘:
Warm tones:
* wear browns, dark greens, navy, plum, maroon, pumpkin, gold and peach well
*have naturally brown or hazel eyes
*tan easily
*look best in gold jewelery
*have more of a peach, golden or olive complexion
Cool tones:
*wear pinks, purples, blues and bright reds well
*have naturally blue or or grey eyes
*sunburn easily
*look best in silver jewelery
*have more of a pinkish, pale complexion
How does this translate to lipstick? Well, every shade of lipstick is available to you. Just make sure that for cool skin tones, you pick a lipstick color that has pink undertones and for warm skin, pick a lipstick that has warm skin tones.

Tips For Doing Lips Right
1) Get serious about teeth whitening. Some shades won’t look right if you need to brighten up. No need to drop mad cash at the dentist, just pick up some whitening strips at the grocery store instead. Once you’re whitened, be careful of smoking, coffee, blueberries etc.
2) Don’t ignore lip liner. It’s not optional. Choose a liner lighter than your lipstick. And no need to have a specific liner for every lipstick you have. Choose a pink liner lighter than your pink lipsticks to use with pink, a red liner lighter than your red lipsticks to use with red.
3) Hate re-applying lipstick constantly? The standard color in the tube is classic, but it can be a bitch at the same time. If this is your pet peeve, look into stay-put shades that come with and glossy topcoat shine.

Awww…the summer heat. I too have found that lip liner really helps lighten the load during the summer. By Using lip liner and top with a lip balm, this look last a long time too. Pucker-up girls!
