With fall fashion upon us, don’t forget your face! Make-up is more than just fun, for some of us, it’s essential. It’s a way to embrace new trends and use our faces as a canvas, expressing ourselves through color and style. Make-up for sissies and cross dressers is no different, and I have written extensively on this subject in two posts that can help you right now. Don’t know what to pick? Having a little trouble knowing what’s best for you? Find out whether you are a cool tone or a warm tone, here. And find out what colors will always be best for your tone, here.

This week, girl stuff. I’m going to tell you what is in my make-up bag right now and share. These are things I am never without. Never ever.

The under-makeup makeup

I have tried all kinds of make-up, both cheap and expensive. And while I love the luxury and feel of department store cosmetics, I hate the prices, of course. Please, let’s be reasonable. Who is going to spend $28 on a bottle of foundation? No one I know! Sissies and cross dressers do not have to stress about under-makeup mak-eup. All you need is a concealer that covers, a foundation that’s not too heavy and a powder that sets it all, dammit. Once you have that, your canvas is set. Match your foundation to the inside of your wrist, make sure your concealer is one shade lighter than that, and try a loose powder that matches your foundation.

All about eyes

Yes, I love smoky eyes, but they never look the same twice. If you have the time, they are worth playing around with. But I’m a little busy most days and don’t have time for tons of technique. So I’m all about metallic liner crayons that give me alot of color. I have a few thinner eyeliner crayons for when I feel like smudging, but I stay away from actual liquid liner. It’s just so damn harsh, and there’s no blending. My favorites are silver, dark blue and hunter green liner crayons that help me get the smoky look without all the time investment. I pair a little metal with a mix of shimmer and non-shimmer shadow almost every day. Get a little more dramatic with color, and it’s perfect for a girls night out, too.

Mascara? I use waterproof. I’m not emotional, I just hate smudges. I use a very gentle remover (I love moist wipes for this, but never, ever tug at your eyes.)

Blush, brows and lips

Warm peach blush. It’s great. Use a larger brush instead of smaller in order to distribute color more naturally and not so concentrated. I bought a kabuki brush, started throwing away the little brushes that come with the compact and never looked back.

Brow pencil. This is tricky. It needs to complement your hair, not necessarily match it. The ones I buy are like, a dollar. Little committment.

feminine talk

I love lipstick, all kinds of shades. Use a liner that’s a shade lighter than your lipstick if you can’t match it exactly. Play around with matte color, lip stains and anything else that strikes your fancy. I have more lipstick than anything else, and it is the one thing that I will splurge on. I’m a Nars girl, and I feel like a million bucks everytime I wear it. Lipstick has to be excellent quality, because we expect so much of it. Feminine lips are one of the first things people see, so make your statement a good one!

I love being a feminization Mistress, because it’s not all teaching. Some of it is relating. I hope that you enjoyed this week and that you related, too.
