Pick shoes first, and then plan around them….
Looking feminine has never been so fun. This fall, it’s going to be all about flirty shoes with chunky heels and sexy wedges. Are you partial to flats and Mary Janes? Excellent! No woman is ‘on’ all the time, so you can still rock your styles on your off days and ‘dress down’ with these classic styles. I just saw the sexiest pair of platform Mary Janes in a magazine last week, and I might just buy some for myself!
Need to be glam for evening? Look for both rounded and spiked toe heels. Of course, both leather and suede are timeless. So be on the lookout for boots that can be paired with almost anything from cute dresses to classy skirts. Looking smart and stylish never goes out of style!
Hosiery is an instant leg make0ver!
When wearing pantyhose, be mindful of the the toe. Stay away from hose with a reinforced toe when wearing peep toes or high heels with straps and opt for sheer toes instead. Reinforced toes aren’t bad, of course. Just remember to only wear them with boots and closed-toe heels. Fancy party? Sheer hose would go great with stilettos for a girls night out!
Is opaque hose more your style? Be sure to stay away from opaque nude colors and choose dark instead. Try opaques with sexy pumps. Not yet ready to retire your pretty, open toed summer shoes? Just pair them with opaque hose (no reinforced toes), and they can still work!
Consider patterned pantyhose….some are very pretty! Just make sure that the pattern isn’t too busy. Remember, you are accessorizing your legs but your clothes are the main event. Great gams get noticed, just don’t overdo it. In love with color? Consider navy, plum, forest green or garnet tights to pull your look together.

Seems like I never see real women covering their legs with nylon anymore. I bet I buy more pairs of hose than any woman I work with. If I’m lucky I get 3, maybe 4 wearings before they’re ruined.
My go-to brand… Hanes Ultra Sheer in the shade of Little Color, a perfect match for my skin tone. Looks like no nylons at all, until I get the eventual ladder running up the back of my leg for ultimate embarrassment.
My first venture in public wearing hose was at age 14, Mom’s pantyhose. Of course they snagged, she saw them on me and screamed I had to buy her a new pair. Or maybe she screamed because she saw a sissy where her boy should have been!
Hosiery is sexy….the feminine imagery, the way it feels on our skin. Wearing it, even just having it and holding it in your hand and near you can evoke memories of women in our past. You may even find yourself yearning to connect to that, and smoothing on a pair of pantyhose allows you to. It transforms your legs and can be something subtle or something bold. Hosiery is fun! I love the sensation of it!

My legs are totally smooth so the sheer pantyhose really accentuate my sexy legs. I see you say stay away from sheer nudes but not sure why. They feel amazing and go better with my red and pink heels than my sheer black ones.
